Alast — Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Alast app and service ("Alast", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Alast, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Alast.

1. What Alast is

Alast is a personal trip-management tool. You add travel bookings (by photo, pasted text, or forwarded email) and Alast organizes them into an itinerary and provides helpful features such as conflict detection, "leave-by" and check-in reminders, and an AI assistant ("co-pilot"). Alast does not book, sell, or provide travel — your bookings are made and held with airlines, hotels, and other providers, who are solely responsible for them.

2. Accuracy and reliance — please read

Alast uses automated and AI systems to read confirmations and to generate times, reminders, conflict warnings, and answers. These can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong — for example, a misread flight number or time, an estimated "leave-by" that doesn't reflect real traffic or airport queues, or a check-in window that differs from the airline's.

Alast is a convenience aid, not an authoritative source. You are responsible for verifying critical information — flight times, gates, check-in deadlines, visa/entry requirements, and connections — directly with the airline, provider, or official source. Do not rely on Alast alone to catch a flight, make a connection, complete check-in, or meet any deadline. We are not responsible for missed flights, connections, check-ins, reservations, or other losses arising from reliance on the app's output.

Each account gets a private forwarding address (u-<code>@alastapp.org). Keep it private — anyone who emails it could add items to your inbox for review. Don't use it, or the service, to receive unlawful content or to abuse the system.

6. Acceptable use

Don't: break the law; attempt to access other users' data; reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service; bypass usage limits; or use Alast to build a competing dataset or service. We may apply fair-use limits and may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

7. Service availability and changes

Alast is provided "as is" and "as available." It is under active development; features may change, break, or be removed, and the service may have downtime. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alast and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost trips, missed flights/connections/check-ins, costs, or other losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service or reliance on its output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero). Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

9. Termination

You may stop using Alast and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service. On account deletion, your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Privacy

Your use of Alast is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and the service providers we use.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; we'll revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you other rights.
